A Marketo candidate on Glassdoor described a test of 50 questions in 15 minutes, the CCAT format, but the report most likely comes from before Adobe acquired Marketo. Marketo now hires as part of Adobe, so a CCAT is not something to expect. If a marketing-tech employer does send you one, our estimate is about 26 to 29 out of 50.

Some evidence
A Glassdoor interview question titled "50 questions in 15 minutes" describes the CCAT format at Marketo. The report most likely predates Adobe's acquisition of Marketo.
Roles were not specified, so we use the highest floor among typical Marketo hires: Criteria's Marketing and Product floor of 21. We add a typical tech-employer margin of 5 to 8 points. Neither Marketo nor Adobe publishes a cutoff.

What changed after Adobe
Marketo makes marketing automation software, and it is now part of Adobe. The Glassdoor report that mentions 50 questions in 15 minutes most likely comes from the years when Marketo hired on its own.
After an acquisition, hiring usually moves to the parent company's process. We found no report that Adobe uses the CCAT, so we cannot tell you that a Marketo role today includes one. This page is useful if you have an older process in mind, or if any marketing-tech company sends you a CCAT link.
If a marketing-tech company sends you a CCAT link
Plenty of software companies use Criteria's tests. If your invite mentions Criteria, ondemandassessment.com or a 15-minute cognitive test, treat it as the CCAT. The test is the same whatever the company: 50 questions across math, verbal, logic and spatial reasoning.
Marketing roles carry one of Criteria's higher suggested floors at 21, slightly above software development. Verbal items, word problems and overlapping groups come up often, and all of them reward fast reading.
Check the deadline in the email; links often stay open only a few days.
Take one timed practice test before you open the link.
Use a laptop with a stable connection and close everything else.
Questions that look like marketing work
Overlapping-group questions are audience overlap in disguise: 37 people in one list, 32 in another, 13 in both. Add the two groups and subtract the overlap once. Sentence completion rewards the same instinct as editing copy: read the whole sentence, notice the contrast or cause, then pick the word.
Verbal odd-one-out questions work like tagging a list of campaigns: four words share a category and one does not. Name the category first and the outlier usually stands out at once.
Pick your role, then pick your target
Because the Marketo report does not name a role, the comparison on this page shows three typical ones: marketing or product, software engineering, and sales. Criteria's suggested floors for them sit within two points of each other, from 19 to 21, so the bigger difference is how competitive the opening is.
Plan for the top of your role's range if the opening is senior or heavily applied to, and the middle of it otherwise. Then take a timed practice test and see how far you are from that number before you open the link.

Tips for the Marketo (Adobe) CCAT
Before preparing, confirm with the recruiter that the test is the CCAT; Adobe-era processes may differ.
On overlapping-group questions, add both groups and subtract the overlap once.
In sentence completion, look for signal words like although, because and rather than before reading options.
If the email names ondemandassessment.com, it is a Criteria test; plan a quiet 15 minutes.
These are our own practice questions, written in the CCAT's formats. Marketo (Adobe) does not publish its test questions, and neither does Criteria. For a full timed run, take the free CCAT practice test.

How we estimate
Marketo (Adobe) does not publish a CCAT score, so the numbers on this page are our estimate. We start from Criteria's published job-family floors for the roles candidates report, then place them against Criteria's two norm groups, where the median raw score is 24. We adjust for how competitive the applicant pool is, and we use an employer's own published baseline whenever one exists.
Percentiles come from a normal model on Criteria's published median and standard deviations, shown as a range across both groups. See the CCAT percentile chart for the method and what a good CCAT score is for the published job-family floors.

Questions, answered
Does Marketo use the CCAT?
A Glassdoor report describes 50 questions in 15 minutes at Marketo, the CCAT format. It most likely predates Adobe's acquisition, so we cannot confirm the test is still used.
Does Adobe use the CCAT?

What score would a marketing role need?
No cutoff is published. Criteria suggests a floor of 21 for marketing and product roles; our estimate for a competitive tech employer is about 26 to 29.
Is the CCAT different for marketing candidates?
No. Every candidate gets the same 50-question, 15-minute format. Only the score the employer looks for varies by role.
I got a CCAT link from another marketing software company. Does this page apply?
Yes. The format, timing and question types are the same, and the role estimates on this page are a reasonable starting point.
