Candidates report that Infoblox uses the CCAT as a pass/fail screen before face-to-face interviews, mostly for engineering roles. Infoblox publishes no cutoff, so our estimate is 26 to 32 out of 50, with 29 as a target. Because it is pass/fail, the goal is to clear the bar with a margin, not to post a record score.

Strong evidence
Infoblox candidates on Glassdoor describe the CCAT by name as a pass/fail step before face-to-face interviews. Infoblox does not publish the test or a score.
The highest Criteria suggested floor for the reported roles is 22 (Engineering). We add 5 to 8 for a typical tech employer, which gives 27 to 30, and widen the range a point either way because the evidence covers several role types.

Where the CCAT sits in Infoblox's hiring process
1
Recruiter contact (typical)
A recruiter screen typically comes first.
2
CCAT (pass/fail)
Candidates report the CCAT as a pass/fail step. Clear it and you move on; miss it and the process usually ends there.
3
Face-to-face interviews
Candidates who pass report moving on to interviews with the team.
Steps are as candidates describe them. Processes change by role and over time.
What pass/fail changes about your strategy
Infoblox is a network security company known for DNS, DHCP and IP address management software. Candidates say its CCAT is pass/fail: either you clear the bar and get to interviews, or you do not. Nobody at the interview is weighing a 38 against a 31.
That makes this a risk problem, not a race. You want the score that clears the bar on an ordinary day, with room for a bad question or two. Steady, accurate answers on the types you know beat a gamble on finishing all 50.
The last screen before you meet the team
Because the test comes before face-to-face interviews, it is the last thing between you and a conversation with the people you would work with. If you have a strong background, it is easy to treat the CCAT as a formality and take it on a phone between meetings. That is how strong candidates miss a pass/fail gate.
Take it on a laptop, in one sitting, at a time when you are alert. The picture questions in particular are slower on a small screen.
Spatial and logic: the engineer's blind spot
Engineering candidates usually find the math comfortable. The slower items tend to be rotated tiles, matrices and if-then logic statements, which look simple and hide one trap each: a rotation that is really a mirror, or a conclusion that does not follow from the rule.
Rotation: track one corner, not the whole tile.
If-then rules run one way. Knowing the result does not tell you the cause.
Mirror images are the most common wrong answer on rotation questions.
How much margin is enough
Your practice scores will move a few points from one attempt to the next, even when nothing has changed. A bad question set, a slow start or a tired afternoon can cost two or three points. If your practice average sits right at our estimated target, a normal bad day leaves you below it.
So aim to average a few points above the target before you take the test, across several timed runs, not one good one. If you are well clear, stop practicing and take it. If you are close, spend a day on the question types that cost you the most time and run one more timed set.
These are our own practice questions, written in the CCAT's formats. Infoblox does not publish its test questions, and neither does Criteria. For a full timed run, take the free CCAT practice test.
Question 1Mental rotationMedium
Which tile shows the original rotated 180° clockwise? Do not flip it.
Original
A
B
C
D
E
Show the answer and the fast route
Answer: A
Turn the whole tile 180° clockwise. Every filled cell follows the same rotation; a mirror image is not equivalent.
The fast route
Track one distinctive corner through the turn.
Question 2If–then reasoningMedium
In Lena’s system, the following rule always holds:
If a request is urgent, then it is flagged.
For the item in question, it is flagged.
Conclusion: a request is urgent.
Is the conclusion True, False, or Uncertain?
ATrue
BFalse
CUncertain
Show the answer and the fast route
Answer: C, Uncertain
The consequence might occur for other reasons. Reversing an if–then statement is not a valid deduction.
The fast route
If A implies B, not B implies not A. B alone does not prove A.
Tips for the Infoblox CCAT
Aim to clear the bar with a margin. On a pass/fail test, accuracy matters more than finishing.
Do not treat the CCAT as a formality just because you have a strong background.
Take it on a laptop in one sitting. Spatial items are slower on a phone.
On rotation questions, follow one corner of the tile and rule out mirror images first.
On if-then items, check the direction of the rule before choosing True.
How we estimate
Infoblox does not publish a CCAT score, so the numbers on this page are our estimate. We start from Criteria's published job-family floors for the roles candidates report, then place them against Criteria's two norm groups, where the median raw score is 24. We adjust for how competitive the applicant pool is, and we use an employer's own published baseline whenever one exists.
Percentiles come from a normal model on Criteria's published median and standard deviations, shown as a range across both groups. See the CCAT percentile chart for the method and what a good CCAT score is for the published job-family floors.

Questions, answered
Does Infoblox use the CCAT?
Yes, according to candidates on Glassdoor, who describe it as a pass/fail step before face-to-face interviews. Infoblox does not publish its process.
What score do you need to pass the Infoblox CCAT?
Infoblox does not publish a cutoff. Our estimate is 26 to 32 out of 50, with 29 as a target, based on Criteria's floor for engineering roles plus a typical tech margin.
Is the Infoblox CCAT pass/fail?
Candidates describe it that way: pass and you go on to interviews, fail and the process usually ends.
When does the CCAT happen in the Infoblox process?
Before face-to-face interviews, typically after an initial recruiter contact.
Does a higher CCAT score help at Infoblox?
If the step is pass/fail, as candidates report, a higher score mainly protects you from missing the bar. The interviews decide the rest.
