CCAT prep options compared

Which CCAT prep should you pick?

• Everyone, first: read Criteria's CCAT prep page¹ and take one free full-length timed simulation, such as JobTestPrep's¹⁴ or Cognitive Train's². That tells you the format and your starting point at no cost.
• Test in a few days, small budget: a one-time pack such as TestCCAT ($24.99)¹⁰, AssessmentDay ($25 for 12 months)⁷, 12minprep ($29 for 365 days, as advertised on October 2, 2026)⁵ or Aptitude-Test.com ($29 for 6 months)⁸.
• You learn best from lessons and video: iPREP's course has 360 explanation videos and a 2-day free trial⁴. JobTestPrep adds an adaptive study plan and a learning hub, at a higher price³.
• You want feedback on your own mistakes: CCAT Tests⁹, JobTestPrep and Clever Cat Prep (our product) all report on pacing or weak question types. Compare their free samples before you pay.
• Avoid surprises: check whether a plan renews. Practice Aptitude Tests' plans renew until you cancel¹². The CCAT-specific courses in our table are one-time payments, or don't say.
• Applying to Crossover: read Crossover's CCAT guide first. It names 12minprep as the one third-party prep exception¹⁶.

CCAT prep options side by side

Every row links to the provider's own page. "Free access" is what you can use without paying, not a trial of the whole product unless it says so. Prices are advertised offers in US dollars unless noted; taxes, local currency and promotions can change what you pay.

We could not load 12minprep's page directly on 2026-10-13, so its row shows what its course page advertised on 2026-10-02. We left out providers whose current price we could not check.

What can you get for free?

More than most people expect. In order of usefulness:

1. Criteria's own guidance. The publisher explains the format, the three question areas and the timing, and says the average test taker gets 24 questions right¹. Its free mini practice tests are short, and Criteria says plainly that they do not reflect the exact experience or full difficulty of its assessments¹³. Use them to learn the format, not to predict a score.
2. A free full-length simulation. JobTestPrep offers one 50-question, 15-minute simulation with a full solution for each question¹⁴. Cognitive Train offers four free 50-question, 15-minute sets². One full run under time pressure is the best baseline you can get for free.
3. Short samples from paid providers. PrepTerminal (20 questions, 12 minutes, no account)⁶, CCAT Tests (a 20-question, 6-minute diagnostic)⁹, TestCCAT (16 questions)¹⁰, PrimedPrep (10 questions)¹¹ and Aptitude-Test.com (11 questions)⁸. These are mainly a way to judge each provider's explanations before you pay. iPREP goes further, with unlimited access to its course for 2 days⁴.

Our free CCAT practice test is one free session: a full 50-question, 15-minute test or a drill, started within 5 days of signing up, with an AI debrief afterwards. That is less free practice than JobTestPrep or Cognitive Train give you. Our free score calculator and pacing calculator need no account.

Notes on each option

What each provider says it offers, and what to weigh. We have not bought these products, so the notes describe advertised features and public samples.

JobTestPrep

The broadest advertised package: an adaptive study plan built around your test date, timed simulations, and a written and video learning hub³. Its public explanations walk through wrong answers as well as the right one. It is also the most expensive per day: $79 buys 7 days. It is a one-time payment, and it lists conditional refunds, for example if the content does not match your test.

iPREP

The strongest choice if you want video. iPREP advertises 360 questions with 360 explanation videos and about 12 hours of lessons, for $29.95 for 30 days, with paid extensions if you need longer and a 30-day money-back guarantee⁴. The 2-day free access is the most generous trial we found.

12minprep

Long access for little money: $29 for 365 days, with six full-length tests and video lessons, and an optional 30-minute coaching call with a person for $60, as advertised on 2026-10-02⁵. It is also the only third-party prep that Crossover's CCAT guide names as allowed¹⁶.

PrepTerminal

Built around speed: 460 questions by difficulty, full 50-question timed simulations and a pacing strategy module, for $68 for 90 days with a 7-day money-back guarantee⁶. Its page promotes pass and improvement rates; we could not check how those were measured.

AssessmentDay

Cheap and long: $25 for 12 months of its CCAT pack, with four practice tests, worked solutions and downloadable PDFs⁷. Printable practice is useful if you want to study away from a screen. Four tests is a small set if you plan to practice for weeks.

Aptitude-Test.com

A large bank for the price: 970 CCAT questions and four full-length CCAT simulations, plus UCAT and CBST practice, for $29 for 6 months, with a 30-day refund⁸. It also compares your response times with other users'.

CCAT Tests

Flexible short plans: $9 buys one full test for a week, and $42 or $49 buys a month⁹. Its pacing report, which separates slow-but-correct work from rushing, is close to what our coaching does. Its free offer is described two ways: a 20-question diagnostic on the pricing page and a 50-question test in the site menu.

TestCCAT

One of the lowest one-time prices we found, $24.99, for 650+ questions with custom exams and timing analytics¹⁰. Its home page does not say how long access lasts, so ask before you buy.

PrimedPrep

A compact pack for a short runway: three full-length tests, speed drills and a one-week study plan for $39 for 30 days, with a 30-day money-back guarantee¹¹.

Practice Aptitude Tests

A broad aptitude library with a CCAT pack of 10 tests and 100 questions¹⁵, which works out to short sets rather than full 50-question tests. Its plans are subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel, priced in your local currency¹². Good value if you face several different employer tests; less so for the CCAT alone.

Clever Cat Prep (our product)

This is our product, so weigh this section accordingly. Clever Cat Prep gives you timed drills by question type and 50-question, 15-minute practice tests drawn from more than 3,000 original questions across 29 question families. After a test, an AI coach writes a debrief from your own answers and timing, and you can ask it follow-up questions. Paid access is Regular price $19.99Launch price $9.99 once for one calendar month. It does not renew¹⁷.

Where other options are stronger:

• Access length. Ours is one month. AssessmentDay gives 12 months for $25, Aptitude-Test.com 6 months for $29, and 12minprep advertised 365 days for $29.
• Refunds. Our purchases are final. iPREP, PrepTerminal, PrimedPrep and Aptitude-Test.com advertise money-back guarantees, and JobTestPrep lists conditional refunds.
• Free practice. We give one free session. JobTestPrep and Cognitive Train give free full-length simulations without that limit, and iPREP opens its whole course for 2 days.
• Video and human help. We have no video lessons and no human tutors. iPREP has hundreds of videos, and 12minprep sells a coaching call.
• Crossover. If you are applying to Crossover, its guide names 12minprep, not us, as the allowed third-party prep.

Where we think we fit: you have a week or two, you want to practice under the CCAT time limit, and you want feedback on your own mistakes rather than a fixed course. The free session is there so you can judge the coaching before you pay.

Renewals, access windows and refunds

Three terms change what a price is worth more than the number itself:

• Renewal. A one-time payment ends on its own. A subscription keeps charging until you cancel. Practice Aptitude Tests says both its monthly and annual plans renew¹². TestCCAT's home page doesn't say how long access lasts¹⁰.
• Access window. "One-time" is not "lifetime." The same money buys 7 days at JobTestPrep's lowest tier or a year at AssessmentDay. Buy close to your test date if the window is short.
• Refunds. Policies range from a 30-day money-back guarantee to all sales final. Read the terms before you pay, not after.

How to choose: a checklist

• Read Criteria's CCAT prep page and your invitation's rules first. If you are applying to Crossover, read its guide.
• Take one free full-length, 50-question, 15-minute test to get a baseline.
• Count the days to your test, and pick an access window that covers them.
• Check whether a "test" means 50 questions in 15 minutes or a short set.
• Try a free sample and read its explanations. Would they teach you something you got wrong?
• Check for automatic renewal and the refund policy on the checkout page.
• Ignore score-improvement claims that don't say how they were measured.
• Plan your pacing whatever you buy: our pacing calculator and 7-day prep plan are free.
