# Rokt's CCAT: account executive and engineer expectations

By [Avi Flombaum](https://avi.nyc) · Updated October 13, 2026

Candidates report a CCAT at Rokt right after the recruiter call, for account executive and senior software engineer roles, and one reports a rejection after it. Rokt publishes no cutoff. Our estimate is about 23 to 26 out of 50 for account executives and 26 to 29 for senior engineers.

Strong evidence

Candidates on Glassdoor report a CCAT after the first recruiter call at Rokt, for both account executive and senior software engineer roles. One candidate reports being rejected after the test.

The highest Criteria suggested floor among Rokt's reported roles is 20 (Software Development); Sales / Account Executive is 19. We add a typical tech-employer margin of 5 to 8 points to the higher floor. Rokt does not publish a score; this is our estimate.

## Roles at Rokt reported to include the CCAT

Criteria floors are from Criteria's sample score report. Our estimates are not published cutoffs.

| Role | Criteria job family and floor | Our estimate | Note |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Account executive | Sales / Account Executive: 19 | 23 to 26 | Reported. A sales role at a technical company, so we use a margin of 4 to 7 points. |
| Senior software engineer | Software Development: 20 | 26 to 29 | Reported. Senior engineering at a competitive tech employer; we lean to the top of the margin. |

## Compare roles at Rokt

The numbers below use our estimate for Rokt: a range of 25 to 28 out of 50 with a target of 27. Nothing is saved. If you ask Clever below, it sees your numbers.

Criteria floor (Sales / Account Executive) 19

Our estimate at Rokt 23 to 26

Criteria's median, all test takers 24

Reported. A sales role at a technical company, so we use a margin of 4 to 7 points.

## Same test, different expectations

Rokt builds e-commerce technology that shows relevant offers at the moment a customer completes a purchase. Its candidates report the CCAT for both sales and engineering roles, and the test is identical for both: 50 questions, 15 minutes, no calculator.

What differs is the score a hiring team is likely to look for. Criteria suggests a floor of 19 for sales and account executive roles and 20 for software development. Those floors are close, but competition is not. Senior engineering candidates are usually compared with other strong technical applicants, so our estimate for that role sits a few points higher.

- Account executive: estimate 23 to 26, target about 25.
- Senior software engineer: estimate 26 to 29, target about 28.

## For account executives: the numbers you will see on the test

Sales candidates often expect a personality quiz and get timed math instead. Rokt's account executives talk about conversion rates and campaign spend, and the CCAT asks similar small calculations: unit prices, rates and percentages, done without a calculator.

Verbal analogies are the other half of the sales score. They reward a quick sentence that links the first pair, then testing that sentence on each option.

## For senior engineers: the early gate

The CCAT comes right after the recruiter call, before anyone has seen your technical work. One candidate reports a rejection after the test, so the gate applies to senior applicants too. Prepare for it before you take the recruiter call, since the link may arrive the same day.

Senior engineers usually lose points to time, not difficulty. Bank seconds on series, matrices and short algebra, then spend them on the verbal items that slow most technical candidates down.

## Compare the two roles side by side

If you are deciding between a sales and an engineering opening at Rokt, or moving from one track to the other, use the role comparison on this page. It shows Criteria's suggested floor for each role next to our estimate, so you can see how far above the minimum each target sits.

Then take one timed practice test and compare your score with the estimate for your role. A gap of two or three points usually closes fastest by drilling the two question types that cost you the most time, not by taking full test after full test.

## Where the CCAT sits in Rokt's hiring process

1. ### Recruiter call

   Reported as the first conversation.
2. ### CCAT

Reported right after the recruiter call. One candidate was rejected after this step.
3. ### Hiring-manager interview

Typical next step; not described in the reports.
4. ### Role-specific rounds

Typical: a sales exercise for account executives, technical interviews for engineers.

Steps are as candidates describe them. Processes change by role and over time.

## Tips for the Rokt CCAT

- Prepare before the recruiter call; candidates report the CCAT link right after it.
- On unit-rate questions, find the price of one first, then multiply; skip setting up a proportion.
- For analogies, say the link between the first pair in one short sentence before reading the options.
- Account executives: practise percentages of round numbers until 35% of 80 takes under 10 seconds.
- If you are rejected after the test, ask the recruiter when you may reapply; retake rules are set by the employer.

## Practice questions in the same formats

These are our own practice questions, written in the CCAT's formats. Rokt does not publish its test questions, and neither does Criteria. For a full timed run, take the [free CCAT practice test](https://clevercatprep.com/free-ccat-practice-test).

Question 1 Word analogies Medium

OPAQUE is to LIGHT as SOUNDPROOF is to…

- A. water
- B. air
- C. movement
- D. heat
- E. sound

**Show the answer and the fast route**

**Answer: E, sound**

The first describes a material that blocks transmission of the second.

The fast route

Say the relationship as a short sentence; preserve its direction.

Question 2 Speed & unit rates Easier

9 identical notebooks cost $117. At the same price per notebook, what do 15 notebooks cost?

- A. 197
- B. 195
- C. 196
- D. 194
- E. 200

**Show the answer and the fast route**

**Answer: B, 195**

Each notebook costs $117 ÷ 9 = $13. Multiply by 15: $195.

The fast route

Write the units mentally. Convert minutes to hours before using distance = rate × time.

## How we estimate

Rokt does not publish a CCAT score, so the numbers on this page are our estimate. We start from Criteria's published job-family floors for the roles candidates report, then place them against Criteria's two norm groups, where the median raw score is 24. We adjust for how competitive the applicant pool is, and we use an employer's own published baseline whenever one exists.

Percentiles come from a normal model on Criteria's published median and standard deviations, shown as a range across both groups. See the [CCAT percentile chart](https://clevercatprep.com/ccat-percentiles) for the method and [what a good CCAT score is](https://clevercatprep.com/ccat-score) for the published job-family floors.

## Questions, answered

**Does Rokt use the CCAT?**

Candidates report it. Glassdoor reviews describe a CCAT after the recruiter call for account executive and senior software engineer roles.

**Is the Rokt CCAT different for sales and engineering?**

The test is the same for both. The score a hiring team looks for may differ; our estimate is 23 to 26 for account executives and 26 to 29 for senior engineers.

**Can you fail the Rokt CCAT?**

One candidate reports being rejected after the test. Rokt does not publish a cutoff, so treat it as a screen you need to pass.

**When will I get the Rokt CCAT link?**

Reports place it right after the first recruiter call, so prepare before that call.

**Do I need a calculator for the math?**

Calculators are not allowed on the CCAT. The math is designed to be done in your head or on paper.
