# Chatham Financial's analyst CCAT and the superday after it

By [Avi Flombaum](https://avi.nyc) · Updated October 13, 2026

Analyst candidates report that Chatham Financial starts with an online CCAT, followed by a superday with a case study and a managing director interview. Chatham does not publish a cutoff. Because the analyst program is selective, our estimate is higher than for most employers: about 30 to 34 out of 50, with 32 as a target.

Strong evidence

Analyst candidates on Glassdoor report an online assessment first at Chatham Financial, followed by a superday with a case study and an interview with a managing director.

Criteria's suggested floor for the Analyst family is 22. A selective analyst program draws many strong applicants, so we add a margin of 8 to 12 points. Chatham does not publish a cutoff; this is our estimate.

## Check your score against Chatham Financial

The numbers below use our estimate for Chatham Financial: a range of 30 to 34 out of 50 with a target of 32. Nothing is saved. If you ask Clever below, it sees your numbers.

Below the estimate

A 24 is about the 49th to 50th percentile of Criteria's published reference groups (our estimate). 8 more correct answers would reach our estimated target of 32.

## Roles at Chatham Financial reported to include the CCAT

Criteria floors are from Criteria's sample score report. Our estimates are not published cutoffs.

| Role | Criteria job family and floor | Our estimate | Note |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Analyst | Analyst: 22 | 30 to 34 | The reported role. We use the Analyst family because it carries the higher floor of the two that fit. |
| Analyst, mapped as a financial services role | Financial Services: 20 | 28 to 32 | The same role under a different Criteria family. Shown for comparison; we plan for the higher Analyst estimate. |

## Where the CCAT sits in Chatham Financial's hiring process

1. ### Application

Typical; analyst programs usually recruit on a campus timeline.
2. ### Online assessment (CCAT)

Reported as the first step after applying.
3. ### Superday

Reported: several interviews on one day.
4. ### Case study

Reported as part of the superday.
5. ### Managing director interview

Reported as part of the superday.

Steps are as candidates describe them. Processes change by role and over time.

## The analyst math: tables, percentages and ratios

Chatham Financial advises companies and institutions on debt, interest rate, currency and commodity risk. Analysts work with numbers all day, and the CCAT's math section reads like a compressed version of that work: totals across a table, a percentage of a figure, a ratio scaled up.

The difference is the clock. With no calculator and 18 seconds a question on average, the goal is not to compute everything exactly but to see which option fits. Round, estimate, and eliminate options that are clearly too big or too small.

- Tables: read the question first, then only the cells it needs.
- Percentages: build from 10% and 5%; 15% of 240 is 24 plus 12.
- Ratios: find what one part is worth, then multiply.

## Why the target is higher than Criteria's floor

Criteria's suggested floor for analyst roles is 22 out of 50, slightly below the median test taker. That floor is a minimum, not what wins a place in a competitive program. When many strong applicants take the same test, the ones invited to a superday are likely to be well above it.

That is why our estimate for Chatham runs 30 to 34. It is a planning number, not a published cutoff. If your practice scores sit in the mid 20s, the most efficient gain is usually in the math section, where your training already gives you an edge.

## After the CCAT: preparing for the superday

Candidates report a superday with a case study and an interview with a managing director. The CCAT does not test finance knowledge, but the same skills carry over: fast mental math, reading a table without getting lost, and explaining a conclusion in a sentence.

Use the score check on this page with a timed practice score to see how far you sit from the estimate before you open the assessment link. Once the CCAT is behind you, move your time to the case. Practise walking through a short scenario out loud, stating assumptions, doing the arithmetic on paper and landing on a recommendation.

Question 1 Tables & charts Easier

How many orders did the North team complete across all three months?

Completed orders

| Team | April | May | June |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| East | 230 | 150 | 200 |
| Central | 180 | 260 | 50 |
| North | 80 | 210 | 110 |

- A. 399
- B. 402
- C. 405
- D. 400
- E. 401

**Show the answer and the fast route**

**Answer: D, 400**

Add its row: 80 + 210 + 110 = 400.

The fast route

Find the exact row and column before calculating.

Question 2 Percentages Easier

What is 25% of 290?

- A. 58
- B. 87
- C. 362.5
- D. 72.5
- E. 217.5

**Show the answer and the fast route**

**Answer: D, 72.5**

25% = 25/100. So 290 × 25/100 = 72.5.

The fast route

Find 10% or 1% first. For an original amount, divide by the remaining fraction.

## Tips for the Chatham Financial CCAT

- Plan for a practice score in the low 30s before you take the Chatham assessment.
- On table questions, read the question before the table so you only total the cells it asks for.
- Build percentages from 10% and 5% instead of multiplying out a decimal.
- Estimate first on math questions; often only one option is the right size.
- Do not let math strength tempt you into slowing down on verbal items; cap them at 25 seconds.
- Move to case practice as soon as the CCAT is done; the superday is the bigger task.

## How we estimate

Chatham Financial does not publish a CCAT score, so the numbers on this page are our estimate. We start from Criteria's published job-family floors for the roles candidates report, then place them against Criteria's two norm groups, where the median raw score is 24. We adjust for how competitive the applicant pool is, and we use an employer's own published baseline whenever one exists.

Percentiles come from a normal model on Criteria's published median and standard deviations, shown as a range across both groups. See the [CCAT percentile chart](https://clevercatprep.com/ccat-percentiles) for the method and [what a good CCAT score is](https://clevercatprep.com/ccat-score) for the published job-family floors.

## Questions, answered

**Does Chatham Financial use the CCAT?**

Analyst candidates on Glassdoor report an online assessment as the first step. Reports describe it as the CCAT, before the superday.

**What CCAT score do I need for Chatham Financial?**

Chatham does not publish a cutoff. Because the analyst program is selective, our estimate is about 30 to 34 out of 50, well above Criteria's suggested analyst floor of 22.

**What happens at the Chatham superday?**

Candidates report a case study and an interview with a managing director on the same day.

**Does the CCAT test finance knowledge?**

No. It covers math, verbal, logic and spatial reasoning. The math is general arithmetic, percentages, ratios and tables, with no finance terms.

**Can I use a calculator on the Chatham assessment?**

Calculators are not allowed on the CCAT. Practise mental math and estimation so the math section does not eat your time.
